Head of Burges Salmon's ( law firm) Energy and Environment teams. Recognised as a UK leader in these practice areas. He has advised on EU and UK energy and environmental law for over 17 years with a particular specialism in renewable energy projects acting for investors, utilities, government and innovative developers on all types of renewables projects including wind (on and offshore), biomass, wave and tidal, solar, geothermal, biofuels, hydro and waste to energy.
Ross also specialises in areas such as environmental permitting, regulatory enforcement, day to day compliance and contamination issues for infrastructure projects and the manufacturing sector.
Ross sat on the Government's Innovation and Growth Team for the environmental goods and services sector, and sits on Scottish Renewables and Renewable UK's wave and tidal strategy groups. He is a former board member of the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association.
