TheCityUK and Imperial College Business School have published a new report today, which highlights the significant increase needed in private sector investment if the energy sector is to reach net zero emissions by 2050.

The report warns of significant barriers to encouraging greater investment and calls for policy change as well as a review of the risk/reward matrix for investors.  The UK was the first major economy in the world to legislate for net zero carbon emissions by 2050, so it would be fitting for us to lead the world again in taking up the challenges highlighted by this report and making the changes needed to drive up UK investment levels to help deliver our 2050 goal.
