The Government has published its response to the Transport Select Committee’s Fifth Report of Session 2021/22, UK aviation: reform for take-off. This response provides some clarity on key questions being asked by the industry:

  1. Will the Government introduce an Airline Insolvency Bill following the Airline Insolvency Review?
  2. How will Jet Zero be achieved?
  3. How is the Government working with the Civil Aviation Authority to ensure consumers have the protections they need?
  4. Should the Civil Aviation Authority have additional powers?

The aviation sector (airlines, airports and related services) has been hit incredibly hard by the Covid-19 pandemic and has benefitted from c. £8billion of Government support. We look forward to working with clients to contribute to the Government's Flightpath to the future in order to drive forward a successful recovery.
