This excellent article written by some of my colleagues sets out the latest proposals for the review of retained EU law and their status, along with some of the background.
The Government's public dashboard shows that there are 208 pieces of EU-derived law so far identified for DWP, and 374 for HMT, let alone HMRC and other departments which have legislation that impacts on pensions arrangements.
Since these include many key areas such as equalisation, VAT, elements of the new single code, financial services regulation etc, the detail of the proposals will be of much interest. We will of course be keeping abreast of developments and publishing further updates.
The Retained Law (Revocation and Reform) Bill 2022 is intended to remove remaining EU laws after Brexit, slash red tape, and boost innovation and investment
