We have previously reported on the impending introduction of the NHS Provider Selection Regime, which will provide a new regime for the purchase of healthcare services by the NHS. Whilst the proposals have been published, the draft regulations themselves have not been made public.
DHSC has now announced that it plans to introduce the PSR regulations just two weeks from today on 19 October 2023, with the intention that they come into force as early as 1 January 2024.
This will be of particular interest to ICBs, Trusts and Foundation Trusts, as well as providers across the market who will now have a very short time indeed before the new rules apply.
