The UK Government has announced a 'bounce back' package of measures designed to help UK food & drink and agricultural businesses grow their international trade activities. The measures have been introduced as trade deal discussions intensify ahead of the expiry of the Brexit transition period.
The plan includes the introduction of virtual and physical events to showcase UK expertise and products and connect businesses to buyers, 'Masterclass' webinars and an e-commerce pilot aimed at helping SMEs grow their levels of international trade.
The plans have been welcomed by the sector, but it remains to be seen whether it will be enough to help Covid affected businesses get back on their feet.
