HM Treasury has released a press release announcing its plans to move forward to the next stage of talks between the UK and Switzerland on an agreement on financial services, following successful initial exploratory talks.
The aim is to move forward with negotiations on the ambition of delivering a comprehensive mutual recognition agreement that will reduce costs and barriers for UK firms accessing the Swiss market, and vice versa. The negotiations will cover a wide range of sectors, including insurance and asset management.
HM Treasury also announced that it had been meeting with some of the biggest global banks, with meetings with representatives from the insurance industry and the asset management sector to follow next week.
