With all the talk of electric vehicles, it is interesting to hear the news from the Fuel Choices and Smart Mobility Summit in Tel Aviv, Israel that major car manufacturers see a bright future for hydrogen power, and not just for heavy vehicles.  Hyundai's R&D boss Albert Biermann said that net zero is "not possible" without hydrogen.  In the UK we are already seeing a strong interest in developing hydrogen fuel capacity, using excess renewable electricity to create hydrogen both for energy storage and for transport use.  What we need is a holistic approach to building a hydrogen economy, looking at the whole supply chain from manufacturing and storage, through transportation, to commercial and consumer use.  Expect to hear lots more about hydrogen in the months ahead, and everyone, from real estate asset owners to fleet procurement managers to industrial operators, should start to plan ahead.
